If you may recall, Samsung is reportedly working on a new clip-on earpiece that could be called the Galaxy Able or Galaxy Buds On. So far, weโve seen flat vector icons of the alleged wireless earbuds hidden within One UIโs code. Now, a recent report claims to have obtained what is said to be an official render of the upcoming product.
The image, which was discovered by SammyGuru, appears to closely resemble the renders we saw previously. It depicts two rounded earpieces connected by what SammyGuru believes to be a silicone band.
The larger, rounder bulb is believed to house the earphoneโs driver unit and sits inside the ear. Meanwhile, the one with a flat end is designed to sit behind the ear, with a concave surface that presumably serves as a touch control. While the image above depicts the alleged product in black, SammyGuru notes that a white variant will also be available.
In addition to the render, the publication also managed to obtain some alleged tip images showing how the earphones are worn. They also provide a glimpse at some of the features we might expect from the product.
One of these pictures is labelled โAuto Volumeโ. According to a string of code found within the app, this feature automatically increases the volume when it detects that the user has entered a noisy environment. Once things quiet down, however, the earphones will automatically return to normal volume levels. Thereโs also โVolume Boostโ, which pushes the driver to play louder, although this could potentially result in some sound leakage.
The Buds On will reportedly support nod and shake gestures, a feature that debuted with the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro. Of course, since these earphones feature an open-ear design, the report does not mention support for 360 Audio or any form of active noise cancellation (ANC).
Another set of images reveals that the Galaxy Buds On can reportedly wake the userโs preferred AI assistant (either Bixby or Gemini) through voice commands or touch gestures. SammyGuru adds that users can also start a new voice memo with a similar gesture, allowing them to quickly record any ideas they may have. These recordings will then be transcribed, with users able to use Bixby to search through them. However, this feature will only work on devices running One UI 8.5 or newer.
Lastly, SammyGuru spotted another feature called โPause media while youโre asleepโ, which does exactly what its name suggests. It will automatically pause whatever the user is listening to when the phone detects that they have fallen asleep. That said, this function requires One UI 9.0 or newer to work.
Samsung has yet to reveal when these earphones will hit store shelves, let alone officially announce the device itself. However, SammyGuru says a launch may be just around the corner, as the publication has spotted the device listed with Indiaโs BIS certification under the model number SM-U600. The report also claims that firmware for the device has been found on Samsungโs internal servers in India, Korea, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Taken together, these could potentially point to a Q4 2026 launch.
As always, do keep in mind that these details are based on leaks and remain unconfirmed. As such, itโs best to take this information with a grain of salt until Samsung officially announces the device and its plans for launch.
