Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Leak Reveals Familiar Specs At A Higher Price

Samsung is preparing to refresh its entry-level smartphone lineup with the Galaxy A18, which was previously spotted on Geekbench. Now, a new leak has revealed more about the upcoming handset, leaving little to the imagination.

Android Headlines has shared a set of renders depicting the device, and along with them, the full specifications. These details concern the 4G variant of the phone, although the publication notes that there will be a 5G version, which will look identical to this one but feature different specs.

In any case, these new renders more or less match the prior leak. In the images, the smartphone can be seen with a familiar pill-shaped camera module. On the front, it sports a waterdrop notch for the front camera, not unlike Samsung’s other affordable handsets thus far. The display also features a thicker bezel at the bottom. In any case, this screen is expected to use a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a familiar device, resembling last year’s model.

As per the leaks, the internals will be just as familiar as the exterior. Apparently, it will feature a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. This isn’t too surprising, given that it’s also what was seen in the Geekbench listing. However, it’s unclear whether an 8GB variant will be offered. Beyond that, the outlet claims that the device will come with 128GB and 256GB storage options. A microSD slot will allow up to 2TB of additional storage. Furthermore, the phone is rumoured to feature a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging.

Imaging will supposedly be handled by a 50MP main camera on the rear. This lens will be accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide shooter, as well as a 2MP macro sensor. Other rumoured features include an IP64 rating, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, as well as Android 17 via One UI 9. The device is also said to be pricier than its precursor, with the base 128GB model retailing for EUR299 (~RM1,405). Given that Samsung announced price hikes for the current generation not too long ago, this probably isn’t too surprising.

Either way, leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. For now, the brand has yet to make a mention of the Galaxy A18 4G, so these details remain unconfirmed.
