Infinix Launches Genie Badge Accessory In Malaysia; Priced At RM249

Infinix has primarily focused on developing and releasing its own range of smartphones, tablets, and earphones. It has also ventured into accessories such as smartwatches, but the launch of its new Genie Badge in Malaysia marks a first for the company, as it is unlike any accessory Infinix has released before.

According to the company, the Genie Badge is a compact digital accessory designed for self-expression and is meant to complement the Infinix NOTE 60 Ultra and NOTE 60 Pro. That said, there’s no getting around the fact that it bears a striking resemblance to OPPO’s Bubble Mag E-Badge.

That said, the Genie Badge has a marginally larger touchscreen than OPPO’s accessory, measuring 1.85 inches. The panel is primarily used to display static images, GIFs, and videos. Users can choose from a wide range of preset images or upload their own through the companion app.

Per the press release, the badge can also be used for voting, designating teams during activities, and more. Meanwhile, the official Lazada listing says that the device can be attached directly to clothes or bags. Alternatively, users can attach a lanyard to it and wear it around their neck like an ID badge.

It’s worth noting that the Genie Badge also features a flexible magnet, allowing users to attach it to its stand or other compatible metal surfaces. Based on the promotional images, the magnetic attachment also appears to be compatible with the aforementioned NOTE 60 phones.

Powering the device is a 500mAh battery, which Infinix claims can provide up to 10 hours of daily use and up to 30 days of standby time. However, the latter figure is based on laboratory conditions.

As noted earlier, the Genie Badge is now available in Malaysia for RM249. However, as part of its launch promotion, Infinix says customers can purchase the device for RM199 with a voucher via Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. This is subject to voucher availability as well as the applicable terms and conditions. It is also available at physical Infinix brand stores nationwide, while stocks last.
