If we follow Samsung’s typical smartphone release window, the Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch early next year. Although we are still months away from its expected debut, the upcoming smartphone family has already been the subject of several leaks. Now, a batch of alleged CAD renders has surfaced online, giving us a look at what the Galaxy S27, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra may look like.
The renders were published by Android Headlines in collaboration with OnLeaks, who are known for sharing early looks at upcoming smartphones. The base Galaxy S27 appears to retain a design similar to the Galaxy S26, while the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra feature a new look that sets them apart from the previous generation. The two higher-end models also appear to share a similar overall design, with their size being one of the most noticeable differences between them.
Galaxy S27
Starting with the odd one out, the Galaxy S27. There’s no sugar-coating it here: the upcoming base model looks strikingly similar to this year’s Galaxy S26. We are still looking at a familiar vertical triple-camera layout on the rear, which could also cause the phone to wobble when placed on its back.
Android Headlines speculates that Samsung could introduce the new camera design to its base models in 2028 with the Galaxy S28. However, this remains purely speculative, with no concrete evidence to support the claim at the time of writing.
The Galaxy S27 is also marginally larger than its predecessor, with emphasis on “marginal” here. According to Android Headlines, the phone measures roughly 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm. For comparison, the Galaxy S26 measures 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm, according to Samsung. The upcoming phone is also reportedly set to retain the same 6.3-inch display, which has become a familiar size for the base Galaxy S models.
As for the specifications, Android Headlines claims that Samsung could opt to use its Exynos 2700 chipset worldwide for the upcoming base model. Beyond that, the Galaxy S27 is expected to retain 12GB of RAM and 256GB of base storage. Its battery could also receive an upgrade to 4,900mAh, if the report is accurate.
Android Headlines also predicts that the Galaxy S27 could see a US$100 (~RM402) price increase over its predecessor, reportedly due to rising memory costs. This would bring its starting price to US$999 (~RM4,024), which would make it a rather steep asking price for Samsung’s base Galaxy S model.
Galaxy S27 Pro And S27 Ultra
Moving on, we have the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. As mentioned previously, the leaked renders show both phones with a new camera layout. For these models, Samsung is said to be adopting a camera plateau design similar to what we saw on the iPhone 17 Pro models.
It would be easy to say that Samsung is copying Apple by adopting this design. However, it’s worth remembering that a similar camera design was reportedly planned for the Galaxy S26 Edge before the model was cancelled.
In any case, the new design could be a step in the right direction. Not only could it reduce the wobble caused by the camera bump on previous generations, but the larger plateau may also provide Samsung with more room for larger camera hardware and improved cooling. The redesigned camera housing has also been linked to the possibility of built-in magnets, although this remains unconfirmed.
As for dimensions, Android Headlines says that the Galaxy S27 Pro measures 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95mm and is equipped with a 6.6-inch display. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is said to measure 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm and feature a 6.9-inch display. Another interesting detail is that, despite the two models sharing a similar overall design, the S Pen is said to be exclusive to the Ultra.
For performance, Android Headlines claims that both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme SoC. There is also a possibility that Samsung could equip both models with its Exynos 2700 chipset in some markets, although this has yet to be confirmed.
For memory and storage, both phones are expected to come with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. In terms of battery capacity, the S27 Pro could feature a 5,200mAh cell, while the Ultra is said to pack a 5,700mAh battery.
As for the cameras, the Pro model is expected to feature a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP 3x telephoto camera. The Ultra is said to feature a largely similar camera setup, with the main and ultrawide cameras retaining the same resolutions, while its 12MP telephoto camera is expected to offer 5x optical zoom instead.
Android Headlines predicts that both models could receive a price increase. The Galaxy S27 Pro is allegedly expected to start at US$1,299 (~RM5,232), while the Galaxy S27 Ultra could cost US$1,399 (~RM5,635) at launch.
Of course, it’s worth noting that all of these details are based on leaks. While Android Headlines and OnLeaks have had a notable track record when it comes to details like these, it is still best to take this information with a grain of salt.
