Nothing Promises To Double Its Smartphone Lineup For 2027

Nothing Phone (4a) series

2026 seems to be a somewhat dry year in terms of Nothing phones. If you’ve been counting, you’d know that the company has only launched three phones so far, which are the Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, and Phone (4b). However, things will be different in 2027, as Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed that they will be doubling their smartphone lineup next year.

In an interview with Times Now, the company executive said that “It’s still too early to discuss individual products, but I can say we’ve launched three smartphones this year, and we’re looking to launch twice that number next year.” If the company doesn’t make any alterations to its plans, we can expect at least six new phones in the upcoming year.

Unfortunately, he didn’t share any specific details on what we could expect. Even so, the lack of info leaves the door wide open for Nothing to finally unveil a flagship Phone (4) next year.

Then again, we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet. Carl Pei has notably stated that he doesn’t want to follow a strict annual schedule like other smartphone brands, meaning a 2027 flagship launch is still far from guaranteed.

While smartphones are the company’s most popular product, it’s not the only thing Nothing is known for at this point. During his interview, Evangelidis confirmed that Nothing is planning on expanding its portfolio of products with a bigger focus on audio products.

“Our audio business has been growing very strongly this year,” he said. The executive further noted that the brand has created “dedicated business units for audio and AI-native products to accelerate development”.

On that note, he also teased that the company still has a few more launches up its sleeve before 2026 comes to a close. “The launch season isn’t over yet, and you’ll see more products coming soon,” he said. “Some rumours are already circulating, but we’ll reveal more at the appropriate time.”

While most would safely assume these upcoming arrivals will just be audio products or accessories, we shouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of new smartphones joining the mix. After all, Nothing isn’t averse to late surprises, having dropped the budget-friendly Phone (3a) Lite towards the tail end of 2025.

Fate Of CMF

During his interview, Evangelidis mentioned that the company has started production of the CMF Watch 3 Pro and the CMF Headphone Pro in India. This perhaps prompted Times Now to ask about the fate of the sub-brand, more specifically about the CMF Phone 3 Pro. As a brief refresher, the smartphone in question was slated for a 2026 release but was cancelled seemingly at the last minutes due to high memory costs.

According to Evangelidis, the company is looking at different ways on how it could launch the upcoming CMF phone next year. However, he adds that the company is keeping a close eye on the market to see how the price of memory will evolve, as it’s “still in consideration”.

Unfortunately, it seems that he immediately pivoted the conversation to the Nothing brand. Evangelidis says that “the plans are pretty much set in terms of doubling our product portfolio and as part of that, we’re looking to grow our volumes by 50 per cent within next year compared to this year. This is why we’re also scaling our product portfolio.”

Global Expansion And Future Collaborations

In addition to expanding its portfolio, Evangelidis said that Nothing will be growing a presence around the world. The first country that will feel this will be India, with two exclusive stores to open in the first quarter of 2027. Then, when that is done, the brand will shift its focus towards broadening its reach in the US.

Outside of target countries, Evangelidis said that the brand is looking into more partnerships as well. If you may recall, Nothing partnered with RCB to launch a special red variant of the Phone (4b). Now, the executive confirms that the company has brought on singer-songwriter Charli XCX to be the brand’s first global ambassador.

He further mentions that the company will add more global ambassadors as it continues to double down on Western markets. On that note, we don’t really know if this would entail special design variants in the future like what we saw with RCB.
