Xiaomi Cars Will Enter Global Market From 2027

Xiaomi recently launched its first SUV, the YU7, following the success of its SU7 sedan. However, one question that remains on many people’s minds is: when will the car be available for sale outside of China?
Well, according to CEO of the company, Lei Jun, the cars will only be available globally from the year 2027. The reason behind it is because, at the moment, the company is focused on fulfilling the domestic orders of the cars. He also added that, the YU7 has received 200,000 pre-orders and over 240,000 locked-in orders within 18-hours of its launch.
That being said, the question now is that will the cars will be available in Malaysia. Although there is a no definite answer to the question, this writer thinks that there could be a possibility of the cars being available locally.
This is because, the sedan SU7 was displayed at Suria KLCC, October last year. It was part of the brand’s roadshow. Furthermore, with the Chinese automakers making a strong stance in terms of the EV market, in Malaysia, it won’t be surprising to see Xiaomi jumping on the bandwagon as well.
Furthermore, the price that is offered for the cars when compared to the performance that it comes with, it would feel like owning an EV supercar for a very affordable price. This could be a major selling point for the cars to be marketed in Malaysia and can even become a major competitor in the playing field.
So, with all of these being said, would you prefer to own a Xiaomi SU7 or a YU7 rather than a BYD or even a Proton eMAS 7?
