Upin & Ipin Universe Launches 17 July On Basically All Platforms

It was announced back in February that local animation series Upin & Ipin will be getting a video game adaptation of sorts. Specifics of its release were not confirmed at the time, but now, the game not only has a release date, but its launch platforms have also been announced. And it’s basically on every platform, minus mobile and Xbox.
Made by Streamline Studios and Les’ Copaque (the production company behind the show), Upin & Ipin Universe is an open world game set in the show’s Kampung Durian Runtuh. The genre allows for loads of activities, such as farming, fishing, and even critter catching, for the authentic village experience. But there’s still a 12-hour story campaign for you to play though in between side content.
Retaining its family-friendly nature, Upin & Ipin Universe has no combat, no microtransactions, not even fail states. The game is also offline only, though there is a couch co-op option – the main characters are twins, after all. The game itself will naturally be in Malay, but you can have the subtitles in the same language, or in English.
Upin & Ipin Universe will be available starting 17 July. As mentioned, it will be on virtually every platform – On PC, you have Steam and the Epic Games Store. On PlayStation, its listing notes that it’s on both PS4 and PS5. And finally, on the Nintendo eShop, it is priced at US$39.99 (~RM170). It is listed to be for the Nintendo Switch, with a note that it’s compatible with the Switch 2.
