Ubisoft Has Nine Assassin’s Creed Games in Development, According to New Report

Ubisoft currently has nine Assassin’s Creed titles in active development, according to a new report by Tom Henderson published on Insider Gaming. While some of these projects have been known for a while, the report outlines several additional entries that are now part of the publisher’s long-term roadmap for the franchise. These include a mix of single-player RPGs, multiplayer experiments, and remakes of older titles.

The next release is expected to be Assassin’s Creed: Jade, a mobile title set in Ancient China. First announced in 2022, Jade has seen limited updates since its reveal. However, it is now reportedly the closest to release among the upcoming slate of projects.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Another project in development is Assassin’s Creed: Invictus, a multiplayer title inspired by games like Fall Guys. The concept involves 16 players competing in match-based challenges. If successful, Ubisoft reportedly has a five-year support plan in place for continued updates and content.

On the remake front, Assassin’s Creed: Obsidian is described as a rebuilt version of Black Flag, using Ubisoft’s newer Anvil engine. It is expected to be released around the same time as Invictus.

Assassin’s Creed: Hexe is another title in the pipeline, with a darker tone and setting hinted at in earlier leaks. It is scheduled to follow Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, which itself is set to receive about two years of DLC support. Hexe will have one year of post-launch content, according to the report.

Following Hexe, the next major RPG project is Assassin’s Creed: Scarlet. Few details are available, but the game has entered production. It could potentially be the project previously referred to as Nebula, which was rumored to feature multiple historical settings, including India, the Mediterranean, and the Aztec Empire.

Assassin’s Creed: Stardust is listed as Ubisoft’s second remake, which is currently in development. It will enter production once Obsidian is released, though details about which previous title is being remade remain unknown.

Assassin’s Creed Roadmap

Shortly after Stardust, Ubisoft plans to release Assassin’s Creed: Emerald, another multiplayer title with a five-year live service plan. It may be tied to earlier projects codenamed “Raid” or “Echoes,” although at least one of those titles has reportedly been cancelled.

Further down the roadmap are two more unannounced projects: RPG3 and Remake3. Neither has a codename nor a confirmed developer yet. RPG3 is planned to launch after Scarlet’s two-year support period, and Remake3 is expected about a year after that.

Finally, the Assassin’s Creed game that was in development in collaboration with Netflix, reportedly codenamed Mask, has likely been cancelled.

Ubisoft appears to be investing heavily in expanding the AC universe across different platforms and formats. While the timeline stretches across multiple years, the variety of projects reflects an ambitious long-term strategy for one of the company’s most successful franchises.
