Back in March, a rumour that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 will feature a larger cover display compared to its predecessors. Now, this rumour may hold water as a recent One UI 8 leak shows an edge-to-edge cover display for the upcoming foldable.

According to Android Authority, animation files found within leaked One UI 8 firmware showcase the Galaxy Z Flip5, Flip6, and Flip7, with the designs for the Flip5 and Flip6 matching what the devices look like. Meanwhile, the Flip7 is shown with a cover display that takes up half of the phone, with cutouts for its two cameras. This does align with the renders of the phone shared in the March leaks.

The edge-to-edge cover display might be the biggest change Samsung is making for the Flip7, as previous leaks have pointed to similar specifications as the Flip6, such as the 50MP + 12MP camera setup. The foldable smartphone will also reportedly be powered by a 4,300mAh battery, which is a slight increase from the Flip6’s 4,000mAh.

Of course, none of the information regarding the device thus far has come directly from Samsung, so a healthy amount of scepticism is warranted. The company will likely launch the Flip7 along with the Fold7 in July, so we will likely hear more reliable news as the release date nears.
