Maybank announces 8 hour maintenance window on July 12th, does it one week earlier instead

Maybank MAE app users were caught off-guard yesterday after their MAE online banking app went down for a “scheduled” maintenance – which was scheduled for the 12th of July 2025.

The scheduled maintenance notice was posted up on Maybank’s social media channels just a few hours earlier in the day.

The service was generally back online for most customers by 8am on Saturday the 5th of July, but those who are still having problems have been advised to either restart their devices or refresh their MAE app to get it working again.

If all else fails, customers have been advised by Maybank’s customer service to refresh the data storage of their device by performing the following.

– iOS: Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Then kindly choose MAE App > Offload App.
– Android: Settings > Apps › MAE & choose ‘force stop’.

Then kindly choose ‘storage’ & choose ‘clear data/clear cache’

We are still not sure if the maintenance window scheduled for the 12th of July will still be taking place or not. We are reaching out to representatives of the bank for more details.
