Just after unveiling the Tesla Model Y Performance variant, there has been speculated information on the upcoming Model Y Standard. From the leaked information, it seems that the Standard variant will be the cheapest amongst the Model Y line-up.
This detail was shared by X account The Tesla Newswire, which – according to Arena EV – seems to have been sourced codes that originated from Tesla’s own website. It is speculated that the Model Y Standard will have a redesigned fascia that comes with single-part headlights without a light bar and a front bumper camera. Additionally, the glass roof will also be removed from the specifications list. On the flip side, there will be a new set of 18-inch Aperture wheels.
The interior of this variant is expected to be basic, covered in textile patterns. Furthermore, the cabin only comes with a single 15-inch touchscreen and no touchscreens for the rear passengers. In addition, the steering wheel and air-conditioning vents are only adjustable manually. It also does not include the HEPA filter for the air-conditioning system.
With all of these specifications, the price offered for the Model Y Standard is US$39,990 (~RM168,198), which is US$11,500 (~RM48,369) less than the recently launched Performance variant in the US market. As mentioned above, these specifications are based on leaked information, so do take it with some scepticism.
