KTM Offers 50% Discount On Komuter Fares Due To Train Delays

KTM Berhad has announced a two-day fare discount for the Klang Valley Komuter service. This comes as its signal system upgrade works, which was scheduled to take place between 31 May to 2 June, had been unexpectedly extended to 3 June, affecting daily commuters.
The train operator is offering a 50% discount on all fares for the Klang Valley Komuter service, including concession tickets, from 3 to 4 June 2025. Meanwhile, KTM stated that ETS passengers that were stranded at stations such as KL Sentral were provided food and beverages, with staff placed at major stations to assist affected passengers.
During the upgrading period, all ETS routes, including KL Sentral – Butterworth, KL Sentral – Padang Besar, Segamat – Padang Besar, and Segamat – Butterworth, will experience a delay of over two hours. As for the Klang Valley Komuter routes, they are running on an amended schedule during this period, which you can find on KTM’s website.
For context, the upgrading works were supposed to take place from 24 to 26 May, but it was then delayed to the following weekend as this period coincided with this year’s ASEAN Summit, which took place in KL and involved closures of several major roads.
