Casio is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future with a special edition of its popular calculator watch. Known as the CA-500WEBF, this limited release was created in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E). It pays tribute to both the 1985 film and Casioโs iconic timepiece, which was also worn by Marty McFly on screen.
This limited-edition watch retains the original CA-500โs distinct shape and features, but introduces a host of design cues inspired by the Back to the Future universe. The watch face borrows elements from the DeLoreanโs taillights and “OUTATIME” licence plate, while its colourful calculator buttons evoke the filmโs glowing time circuits.
Flip it over, and youโll find an engraved Flux Capacitor, the fictional power source behind the time machine, along with another Back to the Future logo that’s etched onto the buckle. The watch also arrives in packaging that looks like a vintage VHS tape, complete with mock rental stickers.
Beyond its commemorative design, the CA-500WEBF maintains all the original modelโs core functions, including an eight-digit calculator, stopwatch, alarm, daily calendar, and water resistance. It runs on a long-lasting battery, which can last up to approximately five years.

The Casio CA-500WEBF will go on sale in select markets, appropriately, on 21 October – widely known as Back to the Future Day. Itโs priced at US$153 (~RM720) and will be released in limited quantities, though the exact numbers weren’t disclosed.
For Malaysian fans, the watch has already appeared on Casio Malaysiaโs website, but pricing and availability details are still under wraps. In response to our query, Casio confirmed that the CA-500WEBF is expected to launch locally by early November.
