If you’ve been paying close attention to Razer as of late, then you’d know that the company has been refreshing a number of its older products and bestowing them with the Pro moniker. The company has done this with its keyboards, gaming mice, and even mousepads. Today, the brand is adding another item to that list with the introduction of the Tartarus V2 Pro.
Unlike some of its previous refreshes, Razer has really taken its time with this one. To briefly jog your memory, the original Tartarus V2 gaming keypad debuted back in 2017, meaning this new Pro model arrives nine years after its predecessor.
While the Tartarus V2 Pro comes with a somewhat familiar shape, it does pack some significant upgrades over its predecessor. Much like the company’s recent keyboards, the one-handed gaming keypad features Rapid Trigger Mode, Razer Snap Flex, Razer Snap Tap, and Dynamic Keystroke. It also supports up to 8,000Hz HyperPolling.
Moving on, the device has a total of 31 programmable controls, with up to 24 configurable keymaps across three onboard profiles via the Synapse app. It also comes with Razer’s Analog Optical Switches Gen-2, which offer an adjustable actuation range of 0.1 to 4.0mm. The company adds that each key is lubricated and is seated in a dense foam layer.
Outside of the buttons and switches, the Tartarus V2 Pro also comes with an adjustable wrist rest. It can be moved back and forth and adjusted from side to side, allowing users to find a more comfortable position for their hands. Speaking of which, the new keypad also features a full-sized, anti-drift TMR thumbstick. It’s worth noting that there are three buttons around the thumbstick, which are the Razer Hypershift Button, the Keymap Cycle Button, and the Profile Cycle Button
With all that said, it’s worth remembering that these upgrades come with a corresponding price increase. And this isn’t a marginal one either — the Tartarus V2 Pro is priced at RM929. To put things into perspective, the Tartarus Pro is priced at RM610, while the base Tartarus V2 retails for RM389, according to the company’s official website.
