At its Human x Car x Home event in Beijing, Xiaomi unveiled its newest clamshell foldable, the Mix Flip 2. The compact smartphone visually resembles its predecessor, the Mix Flip, but comes with upgrades in terms of durability, battery capacity as well as camera system.

The Mix Flip 2 measures 7.57mm in its folded state and weighs 199g, making it somewhat thinner and lighter than the Mix Flip. Aside from that, it features a 4.01-inch 1.5K cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,200 nits peak brightness. Furthermore, the outer screen now supports more than 500 commonly used apps, including social media, music, video, navigation, and shopping. The brand has also introduced new lock screen pets, as well as the ability to make custom pet lock screens using generative AI.

Meanwhile, the internal display is a foldable 6.86-inch panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness. Xiaomi has fitted the smartphone with an upgraded hinge with a three-link, four-float plate structure to ensure it closes flat with minimal creasing.

Moving on to internals, the device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Powering the phone is a 5,165mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Additionally, the device is equipped with a dual vapour chamber system for cooling.

Of course, like its predecessor, the Mix Flip 2 gets the Leica treatment for its cameras. On the rear is a 50MP main sensor, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, the front is equipped with a 32MP selfie shooter.

The Mix Flip 2 is available in four colour options, White, Purple, Green, and Checkered Gold, with three storage configurations. The base 12GB+256GB version retails for CNY5,999 (~RM3,535), while the 12GB+512GB variant is priced at CNY6,499 (~RM3,830). Finally, the 16GB+1TB version costs CNY7,299 (~RM4,302).

The company has also unveiled a special variant of the phone called the Mix Flip Special Edition, which comes in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB configurations. What makes this version unique is the colour options, as it comes in the same colours as the YU7. Unfortunately, as of right now global availability is still up in the air.
